[ And if We hold back from them the punishment until a stated period of time, they will certainly say: What prevents it? Now surely on the day when it will come to them, it shall not be averted from them and that which they scoffed at shall beset them. ]

[ ولئن أخرنا عنهم العذاب إلى أمة معدودة ليقولن ما يحبسه ألا يوم يأتيهم ليس مصروفا عنهم وحاق بهم ما كانوا به يستهزئون ] — هود 8

#2 Yusuf :110 — English , Mohammad Habib Shakir

[ Until when the apostles despaired and the people became sure that they were indeed told a lie, Our help came to them and whom We pleased was delivered; and Our punishment is not averted from the guilty people. ]

[ حتى إذا استيأس الرسل وظنوا أنهم قد كذبوا جاءهم نصرنا فنجي من نشاء ولا يرد بأسنا عن القوم المجرمين ] — يوسف 110

[ Then turn thy face straight to the right religion before there come from Allah the day which cannot be averted; on that day they shall become separated. ]

[ فأقم وجهك للدين القيم من قبل أن يأتي يوم لا مرد له من الله يومئذ يصدعون ] — الروم 43

#4 Hud :76 — English , Mohammad Habib Shakir

[ O Ibrahim! leave off this, surely the decree of your Lord has come to pass, and surely there must come to them a chastisement that cannot be averted. ]

[ يا إبراهيم أعرض عن هذا إنه قد جاء أمر ربك وإنهم آتيهم عذاب غير مردود ] — هود 76

#5 Al-An'am :147 — English , Mohammad Habib Shakir

[ But if they give you the lie, then say: Your Lord is the Lord of All-encompassing mercy; and His punishment cannot be averted from the guilty people. ]

[ فإن كذبوك فقل ربكم ذو رحمة واسعة ولا يرد بأسه عن القوم المجرمين ] — الأنعام 147

#6 Al-An'am :16 — English , Mohammad Habib Shakir

[ He from whom it is averted on that day, Allah indeed has shown mercy to him; and this is a manifest achievement. ]

[ من يصرف عنه يومئذ فقد رحمه وذلك الفوز المبين ] — الأنعام 16
