When
you
were
on
the
nearer
side
(of
the
valley)
and
they
were
on
the
farthest
side,
while
the
caravan
was
in
a
lower
place
than
you;
and
if
you
had
mutually
made
an
appointment,
you
would
certainly
have
broken
away
from
the
appointment,
but--
in
order
that
Allah
might
bring
about
a
matter
which
was
to
be
done,
that
he
who
would
perish
might
perish
by
clear
proof,
and
he
who
would
live
might
live
by
clear
proof;
and
most
surely
Allah
is
Hearing,
Knowing;

[ إذ أنتم بالعدوة الدنيا وهم بالعدوة القصوى والركب أسفل منكم ولو تواعدتم لاختلفتم في الميعاد ولكن ليقضي الله أمرا كان مفعولا ليهلك من هلك عن بينة ويحيى من حي عن بينة وإن الله لسميع عليم ] — الأنفال 42

And
all
married
women
except
those
whom
your
right
hands
possess
(this
is)
Allah's
ordinance
to
you,
and
lawful
for
you
are
(all
women)
besides
those,
provided
that
you
seek
(them)
with
your
property,
taking
(them)
in
marriage
not
committing
fornication.
Then
as
to
those
whom
you
profit
by,
give
them
their
dowries
as
appointed;
and
there
is
no
blame
on
you
about
what
you
mutually
agree
after
what
is
appointed;
surely
Allah
is
Knowing,
Wise.
